"In My Life – Pearl of the Orient" was an Exhibition for my pixel art project "So House" took place in the Aberdeen Centre, Vancouver, Canada. The exhibition promoted Hong Kong’s cultural heritage by using 1x1 square pixel art. It is a metaphor for special condensed living conditions in Hong Kong.

My artwork illustrated the neighborhood bonding and mutual support between each household in the old times. The bonding started diminishing under the migration wave from Hong Kong to other countries before the handover of 1997, resulting from a cultural interchange.

Being interviewed by the local Chinese newspaper as well as Shaw Cable TV Canada, I wanted to raise the public awareness to the cultural interchange between Hong Kong and other countries. I wanted to address the idea of East meets West with my multicultural background and personal experiences and hoping to reconnect with where I originated again.
